Currently on top of the baseball world with their first Fall Classic victory since 1908, the Chicago Cubs also celebrated a century of prowess at Wrigley Field in 2016, with the ballpark the second-oldest survivor in baseball. We have a great group of Chicago Cubs game-worn items totaling 14, spanning from 1954 to 2001. Included are Cubs jerseys worn by Doug Capilla in 1980, Rey Sanchez in 1992 and David Weathers in 2001, followed by uniform pants worn by Dutch Leonard in 1954, Rick Reuschel in 1973, Don Kessinger in 1973, Bob Locker in 1975, Tom Dettore in 1975 and Dick Tidrow in 1979. There are also socks, cleats, and a batting helmet donned by Joe Borowski. Most of the included items will be accompanied by LOAs/COAs.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Doug Capilla`s 1980 Chicago Cubs game-worn road jersey. Wilson size tagging is affixed to the collar, with a date/set swatch of “35 80 2 40”. “Chicago” appears across the chest in tackle twill, with matching front and verso number along with an alternate crest over the left sleeve. With just some slight puckering to the alternate crest, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. 2) Rey Sanchez’ 1992 Chicago Cubs game-worn home jersey. Russell labeling sits on the lower front tail, with a date/set swatch of “6-42-92 Set 1” affixed to the collar. Featuring a partially-embroidered team crest over the left breast, the button-up also features an alternate crest over the left sleeve. There is just some light staining/discolouration around the left sleeve/shoulder. 3) David Weathers 2001 Chicago Cubs game-worn road jersey. Majestic labeling sits on the lower front tail, with a date/set swatch of “41 50 01 S1” affixed to the collar. Featuring “Chicago” arching over the chest in dual-colour tackle twill, the grey button-up also features an alternate crest over the left sleeve, with matching front and verso number. With just a few random marks present, the jersey remains in wonderful condition. 4) Joe Borowski’s circa 2001-05 Chicago Cubs game-worn batting helmet. An ABC model with all manufacturers labeling intact, an embroidered “C” has been affixed, with “48” decals appearing along the back with an MLB sticker. Heavy wear is present, with marks, scratches and abrasions along with staining to the underside of the brim. 5) Rickey Gutierrez’ 2001 Chicago Cubs game-worn cleats. Mizuno models in solid black with white accents, each shows nice wear, with “18” handwritten along the side of each. 6) Dutch Leonard’s 1954 Chicago Cubs game-worn uniform pants. A Wilson label remains affixed to the waistband, with “20-1954-3-36”. “Dutch Leonard” is handwritten along the outside of the waistband, with great use exhibited, with a few random stains along with small holes on the left pant leg. 7-12) 6 pairs of Chicago Cubs game-worn uniform pants. Each pair show varying degrees of use, with all featuring proper labeling and sizing. The examples from Reuschel, Tidrow and Locker have been heavily recycled, with thorough wear present. 12-14) 2 pairs of Chicago Cubs game-worn stirrups. One pair is solid blue, the other with red and white striping bands, with both remaining in excellent condition. COAs are included for the Locker and Kessinger pants and Gutierrez cleats, with LOAs accompanying the Weathers jersey, batting helmet and Dick Tidrow pants.
