Roger Craig, who was the Detroit Tigers pitching coach when they won the World Series in 1984, has signed his 1980 Tigers game-worn jacket that is featured in this lot of six Tigers game-worn items, including three batting helmets, a pair of gray road pants and a pair of navy stirrup socks. Craig signed with the notation “1984 W. Champs” on the upper left breast above the old English “D” crest sewn on in orange-on-white double-twill. Wilson size 48 tagging in the back of the neck has “CR” and “AIG” handwritten across the top in blue marker. There is nice wear that shows in the inner lining and waistband.
Milt Cuyler’s 1994 Tigers game-used road batting helmet has his No. “22” decal on the back above the ABC logo and the MLB 125th anniversary sticker used throughout the majors that season. Double earflap helmet has American Baseball Cap size 7 sticker inside the top along with MLB Authentic Diamond Collection and “Warning” stickers with some nice wear to the inner padding and scuffs on the top of the helmet.
Tony Mitchell’s 1996 Tigers game-worn batting helmet has his No. “66” decals on the back above the ABC logo. American Baseball Cap size 7 1/2 and MLB Authentic Diamond Collection and “Warning” stickers sit inside the top of the helmet, which has its original thin padding with some nice wear. Plenty of scuffs attest to the helmet’s game use.
Joe Oliver’s 1998 Tigers game-worn batting helmet has his No. “7” decal on the back above the ABC logo. American Baseball Cap size 7 5/8 and MLB Authentic Diamond Collection and “Warning” stickers sit inside the top of the helmet, which has its original thin padding with some nice wear. Plenty of scuffs attest to the helmet’s game use along with pine tar residue on the brim and infield dirt remnants.
