World Series champions twice since the franchise’s inception almost a quarter century ago, the Florida Marlins were the NL wild card team in both Series', defeating Cleveland in 7 games in 1997, and New York in 6 in 2003. We have a great group of game-used items from the franchise totaling 8, spanning from roughly 1993 to 2006. Included are jerseys worn by Terry Pendleton in 1995/96, Alex Fernandez in 1997/99, Antonio Alfonseca in 1999, Preston Wilson in 2001 and Dontrelle Willis in 2006, followed by uniform pants worn by Jim Leyland in 1998, along with a Marlins warm-up jacket from the early-1990s worn by Gary Carter and signed. An LOA will accompany the Willis jersey, with COA included for the Alfonseca jersey.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Terry Pendleton’s 1995/96 Florida Marlins warm-up jersey. A Majestic label sits along the collar, with “Marlins” across the chest in tri-layer tackle twill. Accented with a matching “9” on verso along with an alternate crest over the left sleeve, the mesh jersey exhibits some loose threading to the team crest and remains in beautiful condition. 2) Preston Wilson’s 2001 Florida Marlins game-worn home vest jersey. Russell labeling sits on the lower front tail, with an embroidered American flag over the back neckline. Featuring “Marlins” across the chest in dual-layer tackle twill, the sleeveless button-up has been accented with matching front and verso numbers, with “Wilson” over the nameplate. 3) Alex Fernandez’ 1997/99 Florida Marlins game-worn road jersey. Russell labeling sits on the lower front tail, with an alternate crest over the left sleeve. Featuring “Florida” across the chest in tri-layer tackle twill, the grey button-up has been accented with matching front and verso numbers, with “Fernandez” over the nameplate. Nice wear is exhibited, with a few fabric pulls along with some loose threading along the collar. 4) Antonio Alfonseca’s 1999 Florida Marlins game-worn home jersey. Russell labeling sits on the lower front tail including “2 inch extra body length”, with an alternate patch over the left sleeve. Featuring “Marlins” across the chest in tri-layer tackle twill, the button-up has been accented with matching front and verso numbers, with “Alfonseca” over the nameplate. With no unsightly wear or marks, the jersey remains in wonderful condition. 5) Dontrelle Willis’ 2006 Florida Marlins game-worn home jersey. Hailing from the star’s rookie season, Russell labeling sits on the lower front tail including “2 inch extra length”, with the Marlins 10th anniversary patch over the right sleeve. A textured team logo with marlin resides over the left breast, with “35” on verso in matching material. Just light use is exhibited on the jersey. 6) Gary Carter’s early-1990s Florida Marlins signed jacket. A pair of Starter labels are present, with “Carter” handwritten along the collar. Featuring “Marlins” embroidered across the chest, Carter has signed along the interior adding “1993-96 Broadcaster”, with some bleeding to the signature. 7&8) 2 pairs of Florida Marlins game-worn uniform pants. Both pairs feature proper labeling, with “Theo” written in one pair, “Brent” in the other. Both exhibit nice use, with some staining present.
