Western Division champs in 1998 when they finished the season 98-64, the San Diego Padres, along with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are the only Major League Baseball teams to completely originate from the state of California. We have a nice collection of four game-worn Padres jerseys for your consideration, spanning the early-to-mid-1980s, from 1983-1987. Included are examples worn by Juan Bonilla in 1983, Greg Harris In 1984, Gene Walter in 1986 and Kevin Mitchell in 1987. Each jersey differs in either style or colour, making the grouping perfect for display.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Juan Bonilla’s 1983 San Diego Padres game-worn home jersey. A Wilson size label is affixed to the collar, with a date/set swatch on the lower front of “3 83”. Featuring “Padres” arching over the chest in tri-layer tackle twill, the verso “3” has been administered in matching material, with “Bonilla” across the nameplate in single twill. Just a few fabric pulls are present, with a few marks on the bottom of the reverse tail. 2) Greg Harris’ 1984 San Diego Padres game-worn road jersey. A Wilson size label is affixed to the collar, with a date/size swatch on the lower front of “42 84”. Featuring “Padres” arching over the chest in tri-layer tackle twill, the verso “42” has been administered in matching material, with “Bonilla” across the back in single twill. With no unsightly wear, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. 3) Gene Walter’s 1986 San Diego Padres game-worn home jersey. A Wilson size label is affixed to the lower front, with a date/size swatch of “48 86”. Styled with “Padres” arching over the chest in dual-colour drop-shadow tackle twill, the button-up also features “RAK” letters for Raymond A. Kroc over the left sleeve. Nice use is exhibited, with some spotting along the inside collar. 4) Kevin Mitchell’s 1987 San Diego Padres game-worn road jersey.
