Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Paying tribute to the past, the Seattle Mariners wore “throwback” jerseys of the 1937 Seattle Rainiers on June 25th 2005, with the original Rainiers playing in the PCL throughout the late-1930s to mid-1960s. We have an attractive Rainiers ensemble worn by Jose Lopez in 2005, including jersey, uniform pants (with belt), cap and stirrups. As an added bonus, there is also a second Seattle Mariners jersey offered, with this alternate example worn by David Bell in 2000. A COA will also be included to accompany the Bell jersey.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Jose Lopez’ 2005 Seattle Mariners game-worn Rainiers throwback jersey. Majestic size tagging sits on the lower front, with “Seattle” arching across the chest above, and “Rainiers” below in tackle twill. With just light wear, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. 2) Jose Lopez’ 2005 Seattle Mariners game-worn Rainiers throwback pants. With Majestic labeling along the waistband, a set swatch of “4 Lopez 36-42 26 38” is also present. A few dirt stains are visible along the lower legs. 3) Jose Lopez’ 2005 Seattle Mariners game-worn Rainiers throwback cap. In solid blue with red accents, the New Era 7 1/8 size cap features an embroidered “S”, and it remains free of any unsightly wear. 4) Jose Lopez’ 2005 Seattle Mariners game-worn Rainiers throwback stirrups. Solid blue with red striping accents, each stirrup remains in excellent condition. 5) David Bell’s 2000 Seattle Mariners game-worn jersey. A Russell Athletics label sits on the lower front, along with a date swatch of “2000”. Featuring “Seattle” across the chest in textured tackle twill, there is also an alternate crest over the left sleeve. With no unsightly wear or damage, the jersey remains in beautiful condition.
