Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
The first ballplayer from the U.S. Virgin Islands, Pirates right hander Al McBean had a strong 1963 season. Used primarily out of the bullpen, he pitched one shutout and two complete games in seven starts while going 13-3 with a 2.57 ERA and 11 saves in 55 games. McBean’s awesome 1963 game-worn road jersey is a spectacular flannel singlet with its gold and black piping restored to its former glory. There are no other alterations to this Pirates treasure, which has its original MacGregor size 42 tagging in the back of the neck, “MacGregor Set 2 1963” patch sewn inside the right placket, and a swatch with “McBean 34 42” embroidered in red thread sewn inside the left placket. Comes with a COA.
