Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
One of the greatest leadoff hitters in baseball history, Tim Raines had 2,606 hits, 1,330 walks and 808 stolen bases during his stellar 23-year career. Offered are Raines’ circa-1984 Expos game-worn warm-up jacket and his 1990 game-worn cleats from the last season of his first stint in Montreal. Tim signed in black marker on the white twill portion of the triple twill Expos logo on the left breast of the jacket, which has Wilson size 40 tagging in the back of the neck. Rock applied silver paint pen autographs across the outer side of each of his size 8 1/2 cleats, which display nice game use in the form of wear on the plastic undersole. The cleats come with an LOA from PSA/DNA.
“Raines” is spelled out in white-on-red double twill letters sewn directly onto the upper back of the jacket, and his No. “30” is sewn onto the left sleeve in red-on-white double twill numbers. Nice wear with some marks and scuffs on the front tail, and a small black mark low on the Expos logo on the left breast.
Tim’s No. “30” is handwritten in black marker under the lace guard of each shoe, and “Game used 1990” is handwritten in black marker on the white Mizuno logo on the outside edge of each shoe.
