A stuntman after his playing days ceased, Jere Gillis came up through the Q with Sherbrooke, seeing action in parts of 9 NHL seasons with a number of clubs including Vancouver, Philadelphia, Quebec and New York. This Rangers’ jersey was worn by the Oregon native in the early-1980s, and it feature’s huge team repairs! Gerry Cosby labeling appears along the collar, along with a size “54” tag. Styled with “Rangers” across the chest diagonally in drop-shadow tackle twill, the mesh V-neck has been accented with matching drop-shadow sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gillis” across the nameplate. The jersey also sports an intact “loop” style fight strap. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany.
A few light stains are present on the lower front, with additional marks over each sleeve. 5 team repairs are also present, with examples over the right elbow along with large repairs on the lower front and over the upper left sleeve. Gillis dressed for the Rangers for 2 seasons, 1980-81 and 1981-82.
