Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A product of the Fighting Sioux, Jason Blake played in parts of 13 NHL seasons, and he’s also represented the US internationally, taking part in both the World Championships and Winter Olympics. This Los Angeles Kings alternate jersey was worn by the Minnesota native in the third period of opening night at the Staples Center, on Oct 20th 1999, and it’s been signed. CCM tagging along with a size “54” fly tag have been affixed to the collar, with CCM and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with dual-colour textured tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, the solid black tie-neck also features a gorgeous team crest with “Los Angeles” across the lower front hem. The NHL 2000 patch sits over the right breast, with the “Opening Night Set C” patch on the inside hem, near trainer Peter Millar's circled initials. Blake has signed along the top of the second “1” on verso, and the signature displays well. Worn for only a period, the jersey exhibits some wear to the reverse numbers, most likely caused during attachment. An LOA from the Kings organization will accompany.
