Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
For those supporters on the West Coast who live and die Los Angeles Kings, we have a neat little group of items, including Gary Galley’s 1987-88 Los Angeles Kings alternate game-worn road jersey, along with a second Kings jersey signed by Zigmund Palffy. We also have a pair of gloves game-worn by Bryan Smolinski in the early-2000s. The Galley jersey has Starter tagging along the collar with “58-R”, with embroidered NHL and Starter crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with a partially embroidered drop-shadow Kings team crest, the solid black V-neck also sports matching tri-colour sleeve and verso numbers. A few small holes are present to the right of the team crest, along with heavy board burns over the right sleeve. There are also 4 team repairs present, with three examples over the right sleeve along with a single repair on the lower front. The team patch sits on the inside hem just beneath some pilling, with a matching LOA to accompany along with a COR from MeiGray. The Palffy signed jersey is a Kings souvenir example that, according to the accompanying LOA, was sold for charitable purposes at the 7th annual New York Islanders Wives & Alumni Cocktail Party & Auction. Produced by CCM with tagging affixed along with a partially embroidered team crest with tackle twill identifiers, Palffy has signed between the verso numbers in black marker, and the signature display well. The Smolinski gloves are CCM models in solid black, with “Smoke 3” screened-onto each. Great use is exhibited, with some rubbing to the leather in spots along with heavy wear to each palm.
