Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A Stanley Cup winner with Chicago in 2010, defenceman Brent Sopel suited up for clubs in the NHL, IHL, AHL and KHL throughout his lengthy career, which included single-seasons in Montreal, Atlanta and New York. This Islanders jersey was worn by the Calgary native on Oct 8th 2005, and it’s been signed. Reebok size tagging is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the iconic Long Island team crest partially embroidered in tri-colour tackle twill, the orange tie-neck has been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with the “Cares” Katrina Relief Fund patch over the right breast. Sopel has signed to the left of the “3” on verso in black marker, and the signature displays well. Game-wear is light on the garment, with just a few small random marks present on the lower reverse. A patch from MeiGray numbered C06757 sits on the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany.
