A solid blueliner through his 10 NHL seasons, Kenny Jonsson was the 12th overall pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was also voted Best Defender of the Tournament at the 2006 Winter Olympics. This Islanders jersey was worn by the Swede in 1996-97, and it’s been signed. CCM “Goalie Style” tagging is affixed to the collar with a size “56” fly tag, along with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the iconic Long Island team crest in tri-colour tackle twill, the navy V-neck has been accented with textured sleeve and verso numbers, with “Jonsson” across the nameplate in single textured twill. Alternate crests also grace each shoulder, with the club’s 25th anniversary patch removed just above the right breast. Jonsson has signed within the top of the “3” on verso, with the signature bleeding into the material somewhat. Islanders equipment manager Joe McMahon signed the reverse of the team crest, adding “96-97”, with a crossed out “98”. With no unsightly wear or marks, the garment remains in beautiful condition. An LOA will accompany.
