A Vancouver draft choice in 1992, Adrian Aucoin suited up for 7 different NHL clubs throughout his 17 seasons including Calgary, Chicago, Tampa Bay and New York. This Islanders alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the Ottawa native during the 2002-03 pre-season, and it’s accompanied by a signed helmet worn by Aucoin the previous season, 2001-02. Size tagging is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and KOHO crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the iconic Long Island team crest partially embroidered in tri-colour tackle twill, the navy V-neck has been accented with matching tri-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with an alternate crest over the right shoulder. With just a few faint burns and marks over each sleeve, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. The team patch sits on the inside hem near a MeiGray label numbered A02395, with a matching LOA to accompany. The helmet is a Nike model with intact strapping and padding, with Islander decals on each side. “3” also appears along the reverse, with Aucoin signing along the upper right side, with most of the signature rubbed away. Nice use is exhibited on the head gear, with a number of scratches, marks and abrasions present.
