This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
First recognized as the Titans of New York while an original member of the American Football League, the New York Jets have played in the AFC East since 1970, winning Division championships in 1998 and 2002. We have a group of New York Jets game-worn items totaling 4, with the added bonus of a 2002 New York Jets team-signed football. Included are jerseys donned by Marvin Washington in 1993, Neil O’Donnell in 1996 and Bryan Cox in 1998, followed by a Jets game-worn helmet originating from the late-1970s. An LOA will accompany the signed football.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Marvin Washington’s 1993 New York Jets game-worn home jersey. Labeling from the NFL and Champion sits on the lower front, with an embroidered NFL shield logo over the front neckline. Styled with rubberized numbers and striping bands, there is also a Jets 25th anniversary patch over the right breast. Nice use is exhibited, with wear to the rubberized front and verso numbers, along with a yellow mark on the reverse near the right armpit. 2) Neil O’Donnell’s 1996 New York Jets game-worn road jersey. Labels from Champion sit on the lower front, with one example stating “Designed and Tailored Exclusively for New York Jets”. Styled with dual-colour tackle twill front and verso numbers along with rubberized striping accents, there is also an embroidered NFL shield crest over the front neckline. We should also note that material was added at the right armpit to enlarge the sleeve, while evidence is visible of former numbers being affixed. 3) Bryan Cox’ 1998 New York Jets game-worn jersey. Nike sizing appears on the lower front, with an embroidered NFL shield crest over the front neckline. Styled with tackle twill front, sleeve and verso numbers, there is also a NY Jets crest just above the left breast. Great use is present on the garment, with some wear to the front numbers along with stains/paint transfer beneath the right shoulder. There is also a team repair encompassed by the stains. 4) Late-1970s New York Jets game-worn helmet. A Riddell model with all padding appearing intact, Jets decals grace each side, with “1” on the reverse. Heavy use is exhibited, with a number of marks present along with the right side decal slightly askew. 5) 2002 New York Jets team-signed football. A Wilson NFL model, 44 have signed in black marker, with every panel utilized. With no fading to the signatures, the majority exhibit slight bleeding into the material.
