Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
With the best at bats per home run ratio in baseball history, slugger Mark McGwire compiled 583 round-trippers along with 1,414 RBIs over his 16 prosperous MLB seasons. From his second to last season, where the Pomona native still managed 32 homers at 236 trips to the plate, we have a beautiful Rawlings game-used bat from his time with the St. Louis Cardinals, along with a game-worn undershirt. A Big Stick block letter model with “Cardinals” over the barrel, the ash bat features the proper “MAC25” on the knob along with “658” and the year code, “00”. There is also “McGwire 33” handwritten referencing the weight. Great use is exhibited on the 34.5” uncracked lumber, with ball transfer marks along with black rack marks on the barrel, along with a moderate coating of pine tar along the handle. An LOA from PSA/DNA will accompany.
The undershirt was produced by No Fear, and it features Amapro tagging present along with “25” embroidered onto the outside collar.
