An honoured member of the IIHF Hall of Fame, Jim Craig has earned his immortal spot within the rich history of the world’s fastest game backstopping the precocious American collegiate players to their iconic victory over the Soviet machine in 1980. A prelude to this monumental achievement, Craig first saw three seasons of action with Boston University in the late-1970s, garnering 1st team NCAA East All Star status in 1979. Presented, we have a signed trapper that was worn by the Massachusetts native while with the Boston University Terriers, along with a framed and signed photo picturing Craig with the glove. A Cooper model with just a single remaining cloth label, stamps along both the inside and outside have worn, with just “Custom Built” and “Foam Cushion” legible. The tie-string is intact, with Craig adding a gorgeous flowing signature over the wrist guard extension, adding “1980 Gold”. A signed LOA from Jim Craig along with an additional LOA will accompany.
Game-wear on the trapper includes wear to the pocket along with some rubbing to the leather in spots, especially along edges. A label over the wrist guard is gone, with some tearing to the fabric along the lower edge. The accompanying framed photo is 9” x 12” (visible), and framed to total dimensions of just over 17” x 21”. Craig is pictured along with the trapper and a pair of pads, and he’s added an attractive signature to the right of his image. The accompanying LOA mentions that the photo was taken in 2005.
