Well remembered as one of the most venerated Stanley Cup winning goals in history given the amazing backstory, the 1951 Stanley Cup Final witnessed the Maple Leafs advancing to their fourth Cup final in 5 years, taking on a Montreal squad that had last won in 1946. Toronto would be crowned champions, winning the best of seven series with Bill Barilko scoring his famous overtime goal in Game 5. We have an MLG program from that famous contest. At roughly 7” x 10”, the fairly thick 84 page program features a black and white image of Ted Kennedy on the cover, with signatures present from Red Sullivan, Scotty Alexander (played AHL), Jim Thomson and Dit Clapper. The center line-up page is intact with the important date of April 21st 1951, with Barilko listed in the line-up. The program suffers from a number of issues including creasing and toning, along with surface and edge wear. The spine also exhibits heavy wear, with the cover torn on both the front and back along the lower portion, with a piece along the back that is almost completely detached. The interior remains complete and fairly clean, with some rust to the staples. Despite the programs low technical grade it displays well, with its historical significance trumping any condition issues.
