Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A neat eclectic gathering of desirable items are presented within this lot, including a photo signed by Jean Beliveau, a gold base Montreal Expos nodder and a vintage hockey stick ashtray with Canadiens puck. There is also four Steinberg Canadiens glasses from 1965-66 along with an Expos “Babooshkah” doll of Larry Parrish. The Beliveau signed photo is 8” x 10” and it features a black and white image of the HOFer while with the Quebec Aces, and it’s been signed in black marker along the left hand side with big Jean adding his number. The modern print remains in excellent condition, with a sticker from SSB Authentic affixed to the bottom right corner. The hockey stick ashtray is just over 21” in height, with three mini-sticks supported by a pair of pucks. “International PEE-WEE Hockey Tournament” is stamped on each stick along with “souvenir”, with each retaining its striping sticker. The upper puck contains graphics from Michigan State, while the lower puck features a rubberized Habs logo on top, with the reverse blank. Writing on the back of an included attendance prize drawing ticket reads "elle ete lancee par Beliveau sur le ??? du but c'est pour cela qu'il lui manque ??? morceau ???" which translates roughly to "(the puck) was shoot by Beliveau on the ??? and that is why it is missing a piece", with this referring to a big chunk missing out of the puck. Next, the gold base nodder is roughly 6 ½” in height, with nice decals intact (just a small amount of loss to the “A” of “Montreal” on the base), along with a clean face. There are a few small areas of paint loss, with some white touch-ups over the left sleeve. The original box accompanies the bobble head, and it remains in good condition, with expected wear to the box and label. The Steinberg glasses from 1965-66 total four, with examples for Beliveau, Worsley, Laperriere and Henri Richard, with some scratches to the Worsley example while the Beliveau glass exhibits a surface crack. Lastly, the Expos Parrish “Babooshkah” doll remains in very good condition with light wear, with the original box accompanying.
