Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

Named to the Montreal Canadiens’ all-time team while he was still an active player, Hall of Fame defenseman Larry Robinson wore this Habs captain’s jersey during the late-1980s. Robinson’s game-worn No. 19 jersey is most likely from the 1988-89 season, Big Bird’s last in Montreal, when he took over the "C" for captain Bob Gainey, who was limited to 49 games because of injuries. The jersey’s Maska flag tag has what appears to be size “54” handwritten in very faint ballpoint and there is evidence of a former alternate captain's "A" under the current captain's "C" sewn on the left breast. Game wear includes a diagonal black mark with an unrepaired hole on the lower left back, a black mark to the right of the numbers on the right sleeve, board burns on the sleeves with an unrepaired hole on the right sleeve, and pilling in the underarms inside the jersey, and also inside the lower back from the fight strap. Comes with an LOA.
There are also small unrepaired holes at some of the board burns on the left sleeve.
