Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Held in historic Montreal, the 2009 NHL All-Star Game was the 57th perennial showcase of the world’s greatest hockey talent. The Western Conference took on the Eastern at the Bell Centre in front of an exceptionally large crowd of over 21,000. The boys representing the Eastern team took home the victory, outscoring their opponents 12-11 in the high scoring affair. This Eastern Conference jersey was worn in the second period by Mike Komisarek, and it’s been signed. CCM size 58+ tagging along with a Reebok name band sit along the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring a twill “East” team crest that’s been partially embroidered, dual-colour numbers grace the front, verso and left sleeve, with an NHLPA crest on the back bottom hem. Date patches for each year Montreal hosted the All-Star Game adorn the left sleeve, with the 2009 All-Star Game patch residing just above the numbers on the right.
Wear on the garment is light, with a tiny stain on the reverse beneath the left shoulder, along with some spotting to the numbers. Komisarek has added a gorgeous black marker signature to the top of the first “4” on verso, and it displays well. Originally sold to benefit the joint NHL and NHLPA initiative of “Hockey Fights Cancer”, a MeiGray patch numbered F02769 sits on the inside hem, with a printed LOA with facsimile signatures to accompany.
