Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
From his third of five seasons in Montreal, we have a Canadiens jersey that was worn on the night of Nov 18th 2006, when the franchise honoured one of their legendary defenceman, Serge Savard. Size tagging resides along the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the bottom hem and back necklines respectively. Styled with the classic CH team crest that’s been partially embroidered, the solid red V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the important Savard “18” crest over the right breast. Game-wear is light on the sweater, with a few marks on the lower front white band, along with a spot on the reverse numbers. We should also note that the accompanying LOA erroneously states the jersey as being just game-issued, when it was actually game-worn. Ryder scored in the first period of the Savard retirement game, with the Habs cruising to a 3-1 victory. A patch from MeiGray has been affixed to the inside hem, with the serial number of D00490.
