Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Jocelyn Thibault earned a place in hockey history when he became the last winning goaltender at both the Montreal Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens. We have a Chicago Black Hawks jersey that was worn by the Laval native in 2000-01, his third season with the club, and it’s been photo-matched. “Goalie Style” tagging sits along the collar, with embroidered NHL and KOHO patches on the bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Featuring the iconic Sauk Chief Black Hawk logo, the jersey has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill numbers along with matching chain-stitched tomahawk crests over each shoulder. An inventory sticker has been affixed to the inner section near the fight strap, while the Black Hawks 75th anniversary patch resides over the right breast. There is also a handwritten “2” on the back of the NHL shield crest, denoting use in the second half of the 2000-01 season. It should also be noted that the 75th anniversary patch shows evidence of being removed, and then later re-affixed. A few fabric pulls and marks are visible along the front, with additional marks over each sleeve. There are also 2 team repairs, with an example on the lower front, along with a large 5” repair on the lower right cuff. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-matches, Getty Image #1433539 from Feb 6th 2001 has been matched to the loose white thread on the top left area of the "1" on the right sleeve, to the white loose thread on the lower left area of the "1" on the right sleeve and to the loose white thread on the right tomahawk head on the right shoulder. The image has also been matched to the long black thread on the eye on the team crest and to the white thread just below.
