Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
The second Heritage Classic game played after a seven-year hiatus, the 2011 installment of the popular event was played in Calgary, with the hometown Flames taking on the historic Montreal Canadiens at McMahon Stadium on February 20th. This Canadiens captain’s jersey was worn during the second period of the match by Brian Gionta, and it’s been photo-matched. Size tagging sits affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the most recognizable crest in hockey, the white V-neck has been accented with double twill numbers, along with the 2011 “Classique Heritage” crest over the right breast. A MeiGray patch numbered H06931 sits on the inside hem, and according to their population report, the jersey is a "White - Heritage Classic 2/20/11 w/C - Period 2 - NHL-MGG Set" example. An LOA will accompany.
Visible game-wear includes just a few small random marks, including on the lower right sleeve and on the verso below the numbers.
