Even longtime, hardcore Montreal Expos collectors likely have never seen these downright rare items from a (possibly never released) Catelli Pasta promotion. A colorful in-store display reveals that consumers could send away for a set of five Expos-in-action 3-D “decorators; cardboard affairs that could be folded into approximately 5” by 6” displays, with early stars Claude Raymond, Morton, Bailey, Fairly and Bateman shown in action against a backdrop featuring crowds at Jarry Park – genial! A set of decorators is present, while an uncut sheet features two other complete sets. A four-page cardboard folder pitching the promotion to store owners mentions an intensive TV ad campaign, while an assembly instructions sheet and original mailing envelope complete the fascinating collection. Please see our website for further details of this cool, cool ensemble.
The sturdy cardboard store display measures approximately 18” by 24” and features bright vivid like-new colors, with a three-inch vertical crease spotted descending from the upper edge. Multiple creases, some of them heavy, affect the uncut cardboard sheet which measures a big 32” by 44”. It is mounted on foam board and the winning bidder will have the option of having it shipped as is or rolled, with pick-up at our offices another option. Exciting stuff for Expos aficionados to consider!
