Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
One of hockey’s all-time most storied franchises, the Ottawa Senators re-emerged in 1992 after the team originally left Ottawa due to financial reasons in 1934, moving onto St. Louis as the Eagles. We have a pair of Senators equipment bags available in this lot, along with an attractive signed Chris Phillips 1000th NHL Game souvenir stick. Both bags are identical in design and differ only by size, with one example much smaller than the other, with this smaller example also featuring a shoulder strap. Both are solid black with red strapping and accents, with the matching full-colour Senators team crest that first saw use in 2007 on both sides. Both show nice use and they remain in beautiful condition, perfect for display or further use. The Chris Phillips souvenir stick was produced for his milestone 1000th game, with examples given to Philips’ friends and family. A Reebok model with a chrome finish along with accents in Senators red and black, the stick features matching Senators logos on each side of the shaft, along with “4 Chris Phillips”, and “1000th NHL Game”. The date of the milestone achievement, Feb 9th 2012, appears along the topside of the shaft, with remnants of a sticker that originally sat affixed along the very top. Philips has signed near the toe section of the blade in thin black marker, adding “Thanks for all you do for me”, and the signature displays beautifully. With no issues regarding the condition of the stick, it remains in wonderful condition, ready for prominent display in an Ottawa Senators collection.
