Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
The backbone of every NHL contest, referees ensure a fair match, with their often invisible presence on the ice a testament to the quality of their work. We have a pair of referee jerseys for your consideration hailing from the current century, with an example worn by Don Van Massenhoven in the early-2010s, along with a jersey worn by Wes McCauley in the mid-2000s, with both examples signed. Featuring the familiar white and black striped pattern, each jersey has size tagging affixed to the collar, with CCM crests across the back neckline. Styled with the famous NHL shield crest in partially embroidered tackle twill, the garments have also been accented with single-twill verso numbers, along with additional sleeve numbers on the VanMassenhoven example. Both individuals have signed within the verso number in black marker, with the Vanmassenhoven signature “gone over” at the beginning, probably due to a weak marker.
