Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

A five-time all-star, pitcher Steve Rogers spent his entire 13-year career with the Montreal Expos. From the personal collection of Paul Gauvreau who was an assistant trainer with the Expos in 1980, we have a glove used by Steve Rogers in the mid-to-late-1970s, along with a pair of Roger’s uniform pants from 1978 that were later recycled for use by Gauvreau. The glove is a Rawlings Professional model with cloth patch and legible stampings, with “45” handwritten over the thumb section. The pants with intact belt were produced by Wilson, with a date and size swatch of “45 78 26 ½ 2”, along with “Rogers” written and crossed out in marker, with “Gauvreau” written just above.
The glove exhibits nice use, with fairly heavy wear to the pocket along with discolouration to the leather where the index finger is placed. All the lacing is intact, with no obvious and unsightly damage. The pants are size 34, with what appears to be the original belt in place. They remain in very good condition, with light expected staining on the lower sections beneath the knees.
