Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
The first HOFer whose plaque depicts him in a Montreal Expos uniform, Gary Carter has actually been credited by the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary as first using the term “f-bomb”. From the collection of Expos assistant trainer Paul Gauvreau, we have a signed game-issued bat from the superstar, along with a game-used batting glove. An Adirondack 246A Professional model from the 1980-82 labeling period, the 34 ¾” “Big Stick” features a solid center brand, with “Gary Carter” across the barrel in block letters. The knob is stamped “246A”, and the bat remains in beautiful condition, with some light wear to the finish around the end of the barrel. Carter has signed between his name and the center brand in black marker, and the signature displays well. The glove is a Worth model with handwritten “8”, with discolouration along with a rip to the palm. An LOA will accompany for the signature.
