Lovers of both the Montreal Expos and vintage clothing can rejoice, as we have a group of 10 clothing items from circa-1980, all featuring Quebec’s favourite baseball team. All items originate from the personal collection of Paul Gauvreau, an assistant trainer with the Expos in 1980. We have three different jackets, with a pair in Expos blue along with a single white example, this is followed by a zip-up velour track suit top, an “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now” t-shirt from 1979 and 5 different Expos polo shirts, with a pair of white examples with different coloured Expos logos, along with three different shirts in blue.
The breakdown for the offered clothing items in this lot is as follows. 1) Expos heavy jacket. Solid blue and almost appearing designed for winter with thick material, with no tagging along the collar. An Expos patch in tackle twill sits over the left breast, with considerable wear present including white paint along the front section, with additional wear to the collar and to the leather-reinforced pockets. 2) Expos zip-up jacket. The second example is in solid blue, size 44 tagging from Wilson sits along the collar, with a large Expos crest over the left breast in tackle twill. Fashioned from thinner material similar to a windbreaker, the jacket remains in very good condition. 3) Expos button-up jacket. Solid white and of thin material, Wilson size 44 tagging appears along the collar, with the jacket somewhat discoloured, with a few faint stains on the reverse. 4) Expos 1979 t-shirt. “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now” appears across the front, with a Hanes XL tag along the collar. The shirt shows wear to the graphics along with both “24” and “Gully” handwritten on the reverse. 5) Expos track top. Solid blue velour zip-up number, “Avant Garde” tagging sits along the collar, with a circular Expos crest over the left breast. With just light wear, it remains in excellent condition. 6-9) Expos polo shirts. Four fairly identical examples, with a pair in white, along with a pair in two-different blues. All featuring zip-up collars, with “Expos” over the left breast in tackle twill. Rawlings tagging appears in the collars of two, with a third featuring tagging from the famous company on the lower front. One white example has “Expos” is red, while the other features it in blue. All four appear to be large in size, with just light wear present on each. 10) Expos baby blue polo. A button-up collar example with tagging from “Fletcher”, a small embroidered Expos crest sits over the left breast, with very little wear to the shirt.
