A James Norris winner in 2008-09, defenceman Zdeno Chara is now in his 11th season with the Bruins. We have a signed game-worn helmet from the giant, along with a pair of signed sticks used while with the Bruins. Solid black in colour, the helmet features Senators decals along each side, with both an alternate logo along with an NHL shied decal along the lower left and right back. “3” also appears centered along the reverse, with all padding and strapping intact. Chara has signed across the top section in silver, and the signature displays beautifully. The sticks are Easton and Warrior models from the late-2000s/early 2010s, and both have been signed on the blade along with notations.
The helmet shows nice use, with a number of scratches, marks and abrasions present. Both sticks are excessively long as one would expect at roughly 65” from the top of the handle to the heel of the blade, and both feature “Chara” factory graphics on the upper shaft, along with “33” on the Easton model. Both stick retain their original gauze-style tape on the handles/knobs, with the tape still in place on the blade of the Warrior model. The tape has been removed from the Easton stick so that Zdeno could add a large and flowing silver paint pen signature that displays beautifully, along with “Thank you for everything”. The Warrior stick has been signed in gold across the front side of the heel section, again adding “Thanks for everything”. Both sticks show light use, with a few marks to the blades and lower shafts.
