These goalie pads were worn by netminder extraordinaire Carey Price from late October 2009 to late January 2010 including the December 4th Centennial game, and they’ve been photo-matched to a number of Getty images throughout this period. Vaughn Velocity models in solid Habs red, each pad has both screened-on and affixed identifiers and accents, with all strapping intact along with “Carey Price” embroidered onto the side of each pad. Great use is exhibited, with a number of puck marks littering the front sections of each, with additional wear and rubbing to the leather along the sides and some edges. There is a small 1” tear/slit along the inside edge of the left pad, with a tear along the inner seam of the padding on the right pad that attaches to the strapping.
Regarding the previously mentioned photo-matches, Getty Image #92477464 from Oct 28th 2009 and Getty Image #93962304 from the Centennial game on Dec 4th have both been matched to a number of marks on the right leg pad, while Getty Image #93093707 from Nov 12th and Getty Image #96272199 from Jan 27th 2010 have both been matched to a number of marks on both pads. Lastly, Getty Image #94175768 from Dec 4th 2009 has been matched to a number of marks on the left leg pad.
The Canadiens’ Centennial game on Dec 4th 2009 took place on the 100th anniversary of their induction as a professional hockey organization. They played the Boston Bruins and won by a score of 5-1. Michael Cammalleri scored his second hat-trick of the season that night for Montreal.
**ADDENDUM** We need to note that these Carey Price game-worn pads were also used by an individual playing rec hockey after they were obtained from the Canadiens, with some of the wear subsequently occurring at this time. Despite this fact, we needn't stress how important they remain, as any and all items worn by Price command high desirability, especially those that can be positively photo-matched and hail from an important and historic time in the Canadiens' legendary franchise.
