Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

HOF center Stan Mikita racked up a pile of personal honors with the great Black Hawks teams of the 1960s and 1970s. Mikita’s “Banana Hook” curve, which was ultimately outlawed to the relief of goalies throughout the NHL, is plain to see on his signed 1960s Northland Custom Pro game-used stick, which retains his original tape jobs on the knob and blade. “Mikita” is stamped on the shaft and Stan placed a bold black marker signature with his number 21 and the notation “Game Stick – 1964” low on the front of the shaft. “Gonzo’s Sports Center Berwyn, Ill.” is stamped on both sides of the shaft of this beauty, which displays game wear that includes red paint transfer on the shaft.
