The 5th overall pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Rob Niedermayer would see action in 17 seasons, with the bulk of his time spent in Florida. This Panthers jersey was worn by the BC native in his rookie era, circa 1994-95, and it’s been photo-matched. A CCM label and size 54 fly tag are affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the back bottom hem. Featuring the familiar and soon to be replaced Panthers team crest in use since inception, the red V-neck has been embellished with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate patches over each shoulder. Thorough use is apparent, with numerous marks present on the lower front along with heavy board burns with resulting holes over each sleeve.
Three substantial team repairs are also present, with single examples over the upper front, right sleeve and just beneath the left shoulder. There is also heavy salting to the metal buttons on the fight strap. The jersey has been photo-matched to the 3 black marks on the second "4" of "44" on the left sleeve, to the small red mark on the white stripe on the left shoulder, and to the diagonal black mark on the second "4" of "44" on the right sleeve.
