Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
From his heyday in the early-1990s with the Montreal Canadiens, this Vic Pro model stick was used by Patrick Roy in circa 1991-92. With the original white tape on the blade and upper shaft/knob still in place, “P. Roy” appears stamped on the shaft just beneath the knob. Solid game-use is exhibited, with numerous puck marks to the blade on both sides. There also appears to be cracking to the blade beneath the tape, but it's been reinforced and remains solid. Patrick has signed the stick on the front-side of the lower paddle just above the heel in black marker adding his “33”, along with “Vezina 1991” and “Conn Smythe 1986”. In excellent condition including original striping sticker affixed just above the paddle, this game-used Patrick Roy stick will excite the lucky winning bidder.
We should note that the inscription on the stick from Roy isn’t fully clear, as he was actually the Vezina winner in 1989, 1990 and 1992. Also worth noting, the top strand of the tape on the bottom of the paddle is loose. From a William Jennings and Vezina winning season, this Patrick Roy gamer will fit nicely into any advanced stick collection.
