Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
From the first major clash between Eastern and Western hockey powerhouses affectionately preferred to as The Summit Series, we have a pair of ticket stubs for Game 2 which took place at MLG in Toronto on September 4th 1972. Game two finished with a 4-1 win over the Soviets, the only victory by the Canadians on home soil. Each ticket is roughly 1 ¾” x 4 ½”, with both the date listed and the original $7.00 purchase price, along with advertising on the reverse of each from CCM. Both stubs display extremely well, despite lower technical grades, with each exhibiting light creasing and surface wear along with toning. The example designated for seat 2 also has clear tape that has been adhered to the outside edge of the ticket along the front side.
