A lengthy career with time spent in Winnipeg, St. Louis, Atlanta and Nashville, Chris Mason would play in parts of seven seasons for the Predators, beginning with a three-game stint in 1998-99 and ending in 2012-13. This mask was worn by the Red Deer native while with the Preds in 2003-04 and 2005-06, and it’s been signed and photo-matched. An Itech model, the original white face mask is intact along with the interior padding and strapping. Currently void of the cloth forehead accessory, the mask has been styled with embellished metal plates that feature a carnivorous beast on each side, ripping through the metal. The design continues to the back headpiece, with “Mason” along the bottom flanked on either side by Canadian and American flags. The designer is also listed on the mask’s interior.
The mask has been photo-matched to the small chips present, and to the scratch near the right side ear. Mason has added an attractive signature across the top in blue sharpie including his number, and it presents well. The face mask exhibits a few marks and blemishes, with some chipping to the mask’s design along edges. There are also surface chips on the forehead section, top and chin, with the odd scratch or abrasion present.
