Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016

A nifty design and the rookie cards of Dryden, Lafleur and Dionne have always fuelled O-Pee-Chee's 1971-72 issue to popular heights, with the key Dryden here appearing EX-MT but lowered by elastic band-caused warping in the middle. Lafleur has small light creases and is VG, with Dionne NM but off-centered, the same as Orr Double Trophy. In the EX to EX+ range are Howe and Beliveau retirement cards, #251-Orr All-Star, 114-Clarke and regular cards of the Esposito brothers, Hull and Plante. The checklist story includes a duplicate of #264, with one unmarked and VG+ due to a small corner crease and just one darkened and partially erased box affecting an otherwise EX+ example. A couple of creases in, and pencil marks on, famous #111. We spot a majority of EX-MT to NM cards among the rest, with some even better and others EX and EX+. All-in-all, a mighty decent assembly.
