Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
This highly desirable “banana curve” stick was wielded by The Golden Jet during his glory days with the boys on Madison Street in the mid-to-late-1960s. A Northland Custom Pro Glass Fused model, “Gunzo’s” store supplier stamps sit on both sides of the upper shaft. Stamped “B. Hull” along with a partially buried lie indicator, the stick retains its tape on the blade and handle/knob. This example is also void of a shaved handle, a trait common to later Hull sticks due to a hand injury. Bobby has signed the stick twice, which includes a vintage signature along with a dedication. A hole is present on the upper shaft from a prior mounting, along with two small nail holes on the underside of the shaft.
The stick exhibits moderate but not heavy use, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with a few marks on the lower shaft. One of the signatures has also faded somewhat over time.
