Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Perhaps the greatest sobriquet in the lengthy lexicon of hockey, Bernard “Boom Boom” Geoffrion spent 14 memorable seasons in his hometown Montreal where he was a six-time Stanley Cup Champion. This stick was used by Geoffrion while notching his historic 200th career goal on Jan 19th 1958. A CCM Pattern Made Professional model, “Geoffrion” and “5” are stamped on the shaft, with the stick retaining its original tape on the blade and knob. A period inscription fashioned in black ink along the top portion of the shaft divulges the stick’s pedigree, with “Bernard Geoffrion – “200” Goals – Jan. 19, 1958 – Boston – Harry Lumley”. A COA will accompany this important stick.
The stick exhibits nice use, with wear to the blade and marks along the heel. The blade also shows a few cracks beneath the tape. There is also a small hole midway up the shaft from a former mounting.
