First affiliated with Boston and later Washington, the Dayton Gems played in the IHL from 1964 to 1977, and 1979-80. This Gems jersey originates from early in the franchise’s existence, circa 1964-66. Currently void of tagging along the collar, the vintage jersey features an attractive partially chain-stitched team crest, with large tackle twill “16” on verso. Utilizing blue and red sleeve and lower front striping bands, along with a tie-neck collar with six-eyelet configuration, the garment also exhibits nice wear. In reference to sizing, the jersey measures roughly 30” from the top of the back neckline to the bottom of the back, and approx. 32” from the collar to the cuff of each sleeve.
Marks with light staining are present on the front beneath the team crest, with a hole/slit over the right elbow. There is also some loose threading around the collar and both elbows, with additional small holes on the right shoulder, left cuff and near the team crest.
