After being incensed by their treatment at the 1977 World Championships in Vienna as Canada returned to the international scene, the Canadian players responded with a bronze medal at the 1978 competition held in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Marcel Dionne scored 9 goals in 10 tournament games and was named best forward of the championships. Members of the Canadian contingent received these substantial bronze awards for their efforts and contributions. Two players battle on the front surrounded by “World Championships”. The year, “1978”, is proclaimed on the ribbon holder above. The back features crossed hockey sticks and a globe with the IIHF title encircling the logo. In excellent condition, the original ribbon that held this 3” medal is no longer present.
