This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
With an initial retirement in 1997 due to Hodgkin's lymphoma, Mario Lemieux made a triumphant comeback in 2000, playing parts of another 5 seasons before hanging up his skates for good in 2006. This large display celebrates Mario’s return in 2000, and it’s been signed by the legend. At 10” x 36”, the panoramic photo features the opening faceoff from his first returning game on December 27th. The particulars are listed below, with Mario adding a thick and flawless dark marker signature just to the left of center. Set in a rich dark frame and double-matted, a hologram from WGA has been placed in the bottom left corner. A document will accompany this beautiful display.
Regarding condition, we should note that the frame itself does exhibit a few small dings and marks, including on the bottom left corner and the top edge of the lower middle section.
