Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
One of the most storied teams in college hockey, The Michigan State Spartans played their first intercollegiate game in 1922 against Michigan. This Spartans jersey was worn by Gord Flegel in the early-1980s. “Melville” and size tagging sit in the collar, with attractive matching Spartans over both shoulders. Styled with tackle twill numbers, team crest and name-on-nameplate, the jersey shows nice use with random dark marks present. There are also spots of red paint staining on both sleeves near the cuffs and on the lower striping band. We should also add that the vintage nameplate was reattached at some point.
