Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Hockey icon Maurice “Rocket” Richard’s 1958-59 Montreal Canadiens signed NHL contract is an awesome piece of Habs and hockey history. The contract, which is signed by Richard and fellow deceased HOFers Hartland Molson and NHL president Clarence Campbell, stipulates that the Rocket was to be paid $12,000 for the 1958-59 season. Rocket’s bonus of $100 “for every goal scored, including the playoffs” paid him an extra $1,700. Molson, the Habs’ owner, has signed in black ink above Richard’s blue ballpoint signature on the contract dated September 2, 1958. Campbell signed in blue fountain pen ink on the front of the wonderfully preserved 17” x 8 1/2" NHL Standard Player’s Contract, which displays the “Sep 10 ’58” Central Registry stamp. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
