Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
After helping the Toronto Marlboros to two Memorial Cup Championships as a junior, hard-hitting defenceman Bobby Baun made his NHL debut with Toronto in 1956-57, getting into 20 games and then becoming a fixture on the Leafs’ blueline for the next decade. These are the skates Bobby wore in the late-1950s, and they originally came from his collection. Black and brown all-leather skates show significant use with scuffs, scrapes and a couple of one-inch slices, while the worn CCM blades exhibit rust. Original laces are still present, along with most of the tendon guard laces. Written in marker on white tape applied to the bottom of each size 9 boot is “Baun/2 End”.
