Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Perhaps the most beloved athlete in the history of Montreal, Maurice Richard continues to be one of the most highly collected individuals, with demand constantly outweighing supply. This lot contains a watch once owned by the Quebecois legend, with a second watch obtained from his family along with a pair of signed pucks. The first watch owned by Richard was made by Longines and features a beautiful square face with “QWR”, while the back has “Maurice Richard Legende 1991” engraved. The second watch comes from the Bradford Exchange in 2011 and it features a circular dial and quartz movement, with the CH logo on one side and “9” on the other. Both watches will come in their original attractive cases. An LOA from the Richard family will be included. We should note that the BE watch is currently missing the main link, which connects the watch with the link band. It’s accompanied by a COA and collector cards, along with the original attractive hardwood case (there’s a few blemishes to the case lid). The watch shows use, with wear to the band and face. The Longines watch is also accompanied by its’ original box, and remains in beautiful condition, with wear to the band, back and face. The pucks are both matching 1996-99 official In Glas Co Bettman orange ring series examples, each signed "Maurice Richard 9" in silver, with "Rocket" notations on the bottom of the pucks added by an unknown hand. Each puck remains in gorgeous condition, with just a little bleeding to the signatures.
