Jack Adams’ honorary lifetime pass to Detroit Tigers home games and the legendary Red Wings coach and general manager’s 1950 and 1958 NHL All-Star Game gifts are featured in this amazing assortment of five items gifted to him. The gold-colored metal Detroit Tigers honorary lifetime pass bears Adams’ name, as does his travel alarm clock from the fourth NHL All-Star Game in 1950. Also included are Adams’ leather key chain clasp from the 12th All-Star Game in 1958 and a pair of cigarette lighters, one enclosed in a globe with his name engraved on it from the MOHA, and the other with Adams’ name engraved from the citizens of Ingersoll, Ont. for the building of their ice rink in 1950.
The Detroit Tigers honorary lifetime pass bears the American League baseball team’s logo, Adams’ full name in large script letters and the facsimile signature of Tigers president John E. Fetzer, who served in that capacity from 1961-78. It measures 3 3/4" x 2 3/8”, is blank on the reverse, and comes in its black leatherette snap pouch with a velvety soft inner lining.
“Presented to J.J. ‘Jack’ Adams, Fourth Annual N.H.L. All-Star Game, Detroit, Oct. 8th 1950” reads the gilded lettering on the cover of the Red Wings great’s travel alarm clock, which measures 4” x 4 1/2" inches and opens to a height of about 4” when the “Phinney-Walker” clock face is set up. There is a small tear in the brown leather on the cover.
“Twelfth Annual N.H.L. All Star Game Montreal 1958” reads the gold lettering on the cover of Adams’ Buxton brown leather “key-tainer” clasp with its original manufacturer’s card in the inside pouch, which has numbers written on it in white.
“Jack Adams MOHA Nov 2 63” is engraved on the upper portion of a small standing globe that opens the upper half to reveal a cigarette lighter inside.
A Ronson cigarette lighter gifted to Adams has “From the Citizens of Ingersoll to Jack Adams on the opening of Ingersoll’s new artificial ice, Feb. 17, 1950” engraved on the front. It comes with its burgundy Ronson pouch and its original presentation box.
