Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
With over a century of history which includes 24 Stanley Cups along with icing some of the best players the game has seen, the Montreal Canadiens are the center of the hockey universe. This lot contains items perfect for your Habs shrine, including a pair of painted street masks made to resemble familiar models worn by Roy and Thibault, six replica jerseys including one’s for Durnan, Plante, and a pair for the Rocket. There is also a thin copy of Dryden’s mask, a Robinson signed jersey and a pair of generic goal pads. Our consignor had a number of goalie displays, with equipment for each goalie that while not signature models, were produced around the same time frame as the featured goalie played. With that said, we also have blocker/glove combos for Plante and Dryden.
The masks are in good condition with strapping and back headpieces present, while the replica jerseys all remain in excellent condition. The “Plante” blocker and glove are vintage CCM examples from circa 1960, while the pair made to resemble Dryden are Cooper models with “29” decals affixed. The goal pads were produced by Cooper and they remain in good solid condition, while the Robinson Canadiens jersey features a beautiful signature that’s been applied to the back number “9”. Tagging along with an affixed hologram from Frozen Pond are also still intact on the CCM jersey.
