Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
This instant collection of Beantown memorabilia has tactile items perfect for display, including a pair of nicely painted street hockey masks, a pair of vintage replica jerseys, goalie pads and other pieces of equipment. Our consignor had a number of goalie displays, with equipment for each goalie that while not signature models, were produced around the same time frame as the featured goalie played. With that said, we have a blocker and glove combo for Don Simmons, along with a blocker for Ed Johnston. The street masks are familiar designs worn by Byron Dafoe and Andy Moog, while the replica Bruins sweaters made by CCM are for Tiny Thompson (#1) and Eddie Shore (#2).
The replica masks remain in excellent condition with strapping present. Also included is a thin and small copy of Cheevers famous stitches mask. We should also add that the “Simmons” and “Johnston” blockers have had extra leather fashioned over the original material with cloth “Olympic” patches added to appear closer visually to the models these goaltenders actually used. The two replica jerseys remain in gorgeous condition, and lastly, also included in this Bruins lot is an additional Cooper blocker and non-matching Cooper glove, while the included pads were produced by D&R and they remain in very good condition.
