Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Hammered grouping of two game-worn jerseys from the Soviet Union National Team worn at some point between 1981 and 1984. The heavy knit Maska-made style features the "diamond" design at the waist with tackle twill CCCP crossing the chest. You will get one white and one red jersey and both have had the names taken off the back. We first see the team wearing this style in the 1981 Canada Cup and the jerseys were in use up to and including the 1984 Olympic games. Tretiak, Makarov, Krutov, Larionov, Kasatonov, Fetisov… they all wore this style. The white jersey sports the number "18" on the back with number "28" decorating the back and sleeves of the red version. These are slammed! Loads of stick marks and material pulls are present on both shirts, making this a nice pair for your international collection. There is also areas of red paint transfer on both garments as well as small unrepaired holes and rips, along with the side hems that are both cut upwards. These are definite traits to authenticity, as there is photographic evidence of the players using them.
